I think that this is a great idea, how about a single page which gets updated with all the progress as a 'history log'. Then a forum thread where each update can be posted in a simpler and concise version. With an RSS feed of the forum thread being distributed as the 'iPlayer Video Download methods'?

Hello, It seems to have been quite quiet round here since there seem to be several solutions which work well.
I think that the RSS feed idea is still worth running. How about hosting an XML file then as and when it needs updating, a new version can be uploaded.
I'm sure it would only take 2 to 3 people to keep it up to date with little effort.
